Biography
"John Padgett is the Architecture Branch Lead at the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency (DFBA) for the Department of Defense (DoD). He has over 20 years architecture experience in DoD and 12 years with DFBA. DFBA executes the responsibility of the Executive Agent for DoD Biometrics. Mr. Padgett’s responsibilities include managing the branch that develops and updates architecture products that describe the DoD Biometrics Enterprise. One of those products, a Reference Architecture, provides enterprise guidance, activities, capabilities, and resources to develop and maintain enduring, holistic, DoD biometrics capabilities to support the range of military operations. It is intended to enable enterprise leaders to realize efficiencies and close capability gaps in military operations by synchronizing DoD Biometrics capabilities and enabling interoperable information and data sharing among solution providers.
Previously Mr. Padgett supported the Chief Systems Engineer within the office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition (ASN RDA). He facilitated the coordination of architecture federation guidance between the Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the ASN RDA. He also analyzed Information Support Plan architectures from DoD Programs of Record for the office of the DoD CIO.
Mr. Padgett received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and played some varsity tennis. In high school, Mr. Padgett lost so badly to a young gentleman from Las Vegas, Andre Agassi, that he immediately realized professional tennis was not an option for him.
